Jen graduated from Stephens College in 2024 with a Master’s of Education in Counseling. She currently is a school counselor for Columbia Public Schools, and is the owner of Jen McIntyre Therapy, LLC, and practices privately at Kindred Collective and is working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.

Jen graduated with her Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education in 2014 from Central Methodist University, before completing her Master’s of Education in Counseling in 2024. She has taught grades second through kindergarten. Within the last year she has decided to focus more directly on supporting students’ mental and emotional health. Building relationships is a strong suit of hers and she looks forward to forming strong connections with clients and families. Jen has been in education for a little over twelve years. Throughout her time in the classroom she has

developed a love for supporting the whole child. She has grown to learn that the mental health of the child is most important. With that being said, without a solid knowledge and understanding of how to regulate feelings/emotions students are unable to learn to their fullest potential.

 

Therefore, Jen looks forward to supporting children as young as 3 to grow their toolbox of coping skills as well as providing families with opportunities to support. She is interested in assisting clients with their therapeutic goals surrounding anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, family changes, life changes, educational challenges, and more.
